The Pinnacle of Giving Back
The spirit of Christmas came early this year as Pinnacle Properties host their team get together as a My Giving Table fundraiser for Open Haven.
Director of Pinnacle Properties, Von Barnes, knows what its like to need support in tough times.
So when she heard about the My Giving Table campaign to support the charity Open Haven ,Von straight away decided that there was no better way to host her team get together than as a fundraiser for Open Haven.
Charity Begins at Home
Von used the My Giving Table platform to book and register her staff for the delicious Christmas in July Banquet.
Open Haven is a registered charity that offers a confidential and safe place for women who are survivors of domestic violence abuse. Women, who are referred to the Hub from other domestic violence agencies, work with the social workers at the Hub to create a plan to empower the women to gain independence and contribute back into the community through employment and a plan for the future.
The Purpose
COVID has seen an increase in the number of women who need the support of Open Haven. This growing demand needs to be met and this has prompted Open Haven into action to grow their capabilities. The goal is to raise $50k to open a new Hub in Logan and also to work towards a new Hub in North Brisbane.
The Result
Von said her team really loved that their fun get together dinner had a deeper “giving” purpose and was making a contribution to the new Hubs in our region and also to women who need genuine support now.
The My Giving Table Open Haven campaign is running now and we are looking for more good hearted people like Von Barnes and the team at Pinnacle Properties to host their events as a heartfelt fundraiser. You can register your event to be a host here and directly help Open Haven reaching their goal.
Your event will have its own unique event page that can be easily sent as a URL link to the friends and colleagues you wish to invite. Your friends click on the link to rsvp and pay the amount, that you choose, as the ticket price for your event. One benefit of registering through the event platform is that it makes it easy to know who is coming to your event in advance and all guests are recorded, helping with COVID compliance. All transactions are fully tracked and recorded in compliance with the Fundraising Act, the Tax Office and the Office of Fair Trade giving peace of mind that the funds are indeed received by the registered charity.
