Talking in whispers… In pursuit of Mastery

In The News
An intimate gathering of art aficionados and fans of Brisbane artist RW ‘Rich’ Allen was treated to a special “back-gallery” offering at Red Hill Gallery March 2020.

The watercolourist and Master of Design, Rich Allen known for his intricate pattern-making incorporating the female form, hosted a fascinating presentation to a select number of clients.

With the arrival of the third decade of the twenty-first century, it is clear that we are all travelling through an extraordinary period. Our lives are always filled with relentlessly climactic ‘bombardments’ of promises for instant gratification, immediate success, and ‘fast temporary relief’.

With this in mind, and in response to observing increasing senses of anxiety among so many of us, Richard felt compelled to prepare and present the evolving story of his journey.

“Having now entered the eleven-year of full-time activity at my drawing board, it remains one of slow and deliberate repetitive practice. With a perpetual desire for commitment to process for its own sake, and in the comfort of travelling along a path with no destination, outcome or solution to concern me . . .“talking in whispers” verbalises and visualises my journey from the outset, with particular emphasis on the story of my explorations since 2007.”

“Coming off the back of a very successful 2019 presenting to business practices and groups in tertiary education, as well as a very successful presentation program with the Australian Institute of Architects’ continuous professional development program, Red Hill Gallery was delighted that Rich was keen to deliver his presentation to their clients”. Margaret Campbell-Ryder Director Red Hill Gallery.

Artists at Red Hill Gallery drew their inspiration from the Dorothea Mackellar poem “My Country” for the new exhibition now online at the gallery. The collective of artists exhibiting were given the line ‘I Love a Sunburnt Country’ as the initial inspiration for this exhibition celebrating everything the Australian land has to offer. This exhibition is set to showcase Australia through the eyes of numerous Australian artists and is sure to appeal to art lovers and collectors alike.  Follow this link to see more about Rich Allen.
