Developing a Positive Mindset

What is a Mindset?
To be a successful speaker, it is absolutely critical to develop and maintain a positive attitude.

The Oxford Dictionary defines a Mindset as:
“a set of attitudes or fixed ideas that somebody has”

In keeping up with me being an Acronym Queen, I have created an acronym for MINDSET.

Tip #1 M = Mentors
Tip #2 I = Inspiration
Tip #3 N = Negatives
Tip #4 D = Discipline
Tip #5 S = Synergies
Tip #6 E = exercise
Tip #7 T = training

So here we go.
M:  Mentors – learn from other successful people (alive or passed), books, audios
I:  Inspiration – do something that makes you happy, it raises your energy level which raises your vibration
N:  Negatives – remove yourself from as much negativity as possible – family, friends, TV, social media, events, situations etc
D:  Discipline – it takes effort every day to have a positive mindset, if you are feeling down or negative, acknowledge and move on, you can’t have a negative and a positive thought at the same time, choose happy, positive thoughts
S:  Synergies – associate with those who you have synergies with as like attracts like, the old saying “Birds of a feather flock together”
E:  Exercise – do some exercise every day, no matter how limited time you have, get up 5 mins earlier, stay up 5 mins later
T:  Training – train your mind, we need to take a checkup from the neck up, sometimes our brains need washing, read/watch/listen/attend as many trainings as possible, live or online

What Am I Doing Differently?

Over the past 12 months and more specifically the past 6 months, my mindset has really change and as a result, so has my life. It’s pretty much done a full 1800 BIG TIME in a positive way despite one of the most challenging years of my life personally and professionally!

What have I done differently:
· New 3 month contract
· New location near the beach
· New home – smaller, more manageable, uncluttered unit
· Morning ritual – reading, exercise, meditation, affirmations
· Evening ritual – 5 things I’m grateful for
· I am being my authentic self – true to me
· Not worrying about what others think of me

Why Have I Had Such a Shift in My Mindset?

1. All the work I have done to date – the books, the audios, the seminars, the mentors, the coaching, the people, totally backing myself and not having a job, my lifestyle now
2. Kinda like an epiphany – speaking with a business mentor and colleague, I realized it was not about the position/title/car – it was about MY WHY…MY KIDS WHY…OUR WHY…our Jonasson Region Dream Family Trip 2019 FB group
3. The kicker was my beautiful Mum passing away in my arms on Wednesday 26th July 2017. I absolutely willed her to enter eternal life that day…and she did! Ultimately, this allowed me to truly focus on ME to be the best version of me. I am, and always will be, a work in progress, however I am Pix Uncovered now, not hiding behind the mask of being a daughter, mother, wife, lover, bread winner, athlete, friend, carer, the one who has always picked up the pieces and held it together for everyone else. I have put the oxygen mask on me now so I can pay it forward and leave a generational legacy, positively impacting people one person at a time.

Action Item:

Knowledge is not power…applied knowledge is power. So here’s your action item.

Visit or revisit your WHY in life. Really honestly uncover on your Why on your own or as a couple or as a family. Decide and get crystal clear on what you TRULY want out of life. Write it down. Print it out. Put it somewhere visual where you see it every day.
