Comfort x Style: Shoes That Offer The Best of Both Worlds

A Guide to Comfortable & Stylish Footwear

There are few things more annoying than finding the perfect pair of shoes, only to have them pinch, rub, and dig into your feet the moment you put them on. But when searching for a comfortable pair of shoes, you don’t need to be restricted to just sneakers either.

Whether you are looking for a pair of slip on shoes for summer, or the ideal stylish winter boot, finding footwear that both looks and feels fantastic has never been more straightforward.

Professional Clog

This is a bit of an unusual one. For those in professions that require a lot of standing, like nurses, chefs, and teachers, you might already be familiar with the new wave of comfortable and stylish clogs currently on the market.

They come in various colours and patterns, with added foam insoles for extra comfort and support. They can be worn by themselves during the warmer months or paired with socks for winter.

The Glove Boot

Heels may not be synonymous with comfort to all people, but having a pair of heeled ankle boots gives an array of both formal and casual footwear options throughout the year. Now, replace the typically stiff material with a warm, soft knit fabric that hugs your foot while supporting it.

That is the glove boot, a perfect addition to any women’s wardrobe. With its pull-on design and a variety of rich colours to choose from, you will be converted to this stylish boot option if you haven’t been already.

Loafers

Loafers are incredibly stylish and, more importantly, very versatile. They can be worn all year round and be styled with skirts, dresses, pants, and shorts. In addition, they can easily transition from day to night, and their slip-on design and padded soles offer maximum comfort levels.

Buying a pair in leather, faux leather, or suede will keep them on trend and extend the shoe’s longevity with the proper maintenance. Like most shoes, avoid getting them drenched in water; wipe them down immediately if they get dirty.

Slip-on Sandal

Slip-on sandals currently cover a wide range of brands and styles on the market. Each fits your feet differently, has open and close-toed varieties and is made of various materials like leather, suede and even plastic.

The one you choose to buy depends on which one you like most. But incorporating a pair into your closet will give you a quick and easy option for running errands or a trip to the nail salon. Opt for something in a neutral colour for maximum versatility.

Fashion Sneaker

Thanks to the overwhelming influence of street style on today’s fashion, finding a pair of highly comfortable yet equally fashionable sneakers will be one of the more straightforward purchases you make. Available in many brands, colours, and designs, you can effortlessly find two or three options to rotate through the year.

They can be styled with everything, from jeans and shorts to dresses and skirts. Before rushing out to buy the brightest pair you can find, look over your current wardrobe and pick options that will match the majority of your clothes. Otherwise, you will be less inclined to wear them.

The Ballet Pump

No list will be complete without a pair of ballet flats. These feminine and sophisticated shoes are perfect for both formal and casual settings, adding an elegant and comfortable touch to any outfit. Finding a pair in leather or suede will immediately elevate them to another level.

But remember that these materials stretch slightly with wear, so compensate for added room when buying them. Also, while they are a girly and fun option, they typically don’t offer much support to the foot. So if you are someone with any arch problems or flat feet, it will probably be best to avoid these.

Combat Boots

Combat boots are no longer just for those emulating punk-rock style or grunge. Instead, they have widely been adopted into mainstream fashion, becoming popular for summer and winter outfit choices. They can be worn with fitted jeans, shorts, dresses, skirts, and comfortable joggers.

The more traditional style is lace-up, but pull-on options are widely available these days. Made with stiff leather that will take a few wears to soften, their sturdy design and thick rubber soles will significantly extend their wear for many years to come.

Mules

Mules can trace their origins back to the days of Ancient Rome. And while they have been around for centuries, their popularity has recently been resurgent. Designed to have no back and constraints around the heel of the foot, most of the shoe is covered in a soft linen or cotton material. Alternatively, it can be made with a woven material over the foot and toes.

They come in a variety of different heel lengths, from high heels to a slipper style. Throughout the years, they have been readapted from the casual footwear option they once were to a formal and elegant alternative to suit any attire. Like most shoes, they can be found in softer leather or suede materials for a more formal appearance.
